Short Description | Vigna del Lume is a 5 Star winner of the Vinitaly international wine ward. This Biaconella Grape White wine is Produced east of the island of Ischia, 100 meters above sea level, in the locality of Punta del Lume commonly called "o' lummo". The grapes are harvested in the first ten days of October, slightly overripe. The pressing still takes place in the ancient way in small caves dug out of the lapillus, the must obtained remains cool in these caves for 12 hours, then it is transported by sea with wooden boats to the village of Ischia Ponte and then in the cellar in Campagnano, where it will be vinified with the classic technique. Fermentation happens at a controlled temperature of around 16-18° C. for about 50 days, then it is aged first in steel and then in the bottle. Great to pair with fish and cheese dishes at temperatures between 8° & 10° C |
